Bell's Growler Carrier

So the Mrs. says, "How'd you like to go down to Bell's this weekend for lunch and an Oberon?" Damn! Well, just twist my arm! I couldn't go empty handed, so I thought I would take the opportunity to make a Bell's Growler Carrier completely on spec. (You know, speculation? Maybe they'll like it, maybe they won't.) Besides, I was looking for an excuse to experiment with multi-color printing on our carriers. Anyway, so we get our hands on the Bell's art, clean it up for screen printing, burn a couple screens, and then build a special jig to hold the carrier in such a way that allows us to print multiple colors. Yes, we even custom mixed the ink to match the "Bell's" yellow. My heart was pounding with the first pull of the squeegee. You've got to realize there's a lot of work that goes in to building a carrier, and you don't want to screw it up with a lousy print. After that first color of yellow ink was down, I took a peek. Looks good. Flipped it over and printed the other side. OK, that's good. Now...let it dry. Set it back in jig and print the black ink. Take a peek. SUH-WEET! Man, she really pops! So, I'm feeling pretty proud of my "only one in the world" Bell's 2-color growler carrier. We head down to Kalamazoo, pick out a table, and then head up to the window to order. Of course, I had to ask the guy in the kitchen, "So, did you happen to see my growler carrier?" He replies, "Yeh, I did . It really looks cool. You know, we don't sell beer in growlers here." "WHAT!?" "You're joking, right?" "Uh, nope. Larry doesn't want to do that." Geez-Louise! "Well, I'll take an Oberon." "Uh, Oberon won't be available until tomorrow." Double-Damn! Perhaps it's needless to say, but we don't have any growler carriers available at this time with the Bell's logo!
